Asia’s longest zipline to be developed at Naddi, Dharamshala

The government of Himachal Pradesh is to develop Asia’s longest zipline at Naddi, located in the upper hill area of Dharamshala, in Kangra district, reported the timesofindia.com Feb 16. The proposed 4.3 kilometre-long Naddi Zipline Project would be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 7.41 crore. The project is proposed to be completed within a period of 36 months, the report cited the government as saying in a statement. The line will have four stations – Gallu (the starting point) lying along the popular Triund trekking route, Ball village, Naddi and Maggie Point Khad (the terminating point). The line will offer visitors a thrilling experience while showcasing the breathtaking natural beauty of the Dhauladhar ranges, the statement was cited as reading. Once completed, it is expected to significantly enhance tourism infrastructure in the region, attract adventure enthusiasts, generate employment opportunities and contribute to the overall economic growth of the area, the statement has added.

Dharamshala student death case: Court grants anticipatory bail to teacher, students

After the victim’s death on December 27, based on a complaint filed by the victim’s father, three students of the government college in Dharamshala were booked on charges of ragging while the teacher was booked for sexual harassment on January 1 The district and sessions court, while granting anticipatory bail to teacher and two students accused in case related to death of 19-year-old student, said “The medical board had finally opined that the deceased had longstanding behavioural symptoms most likely a primary psychotic illness of ‘Schizophrenia Spectrum and Related Disorders’, later on superimposed with features of Encephalitis like illness. However, the court directed that the teacher shall continue joining the investigation as and when directed. “In case anything new comes up during the course of investigation, more particularly while investigating the matter viz-a-viz the video clippings, the prosecution will be at liberty to take steps to incorporate the severer offences, If any, is made out made out and take steps as per law,” the court said

Kangra court grants anticipatory bail to assistant prof, 2 students in Dharamsala student’s death case

Kangra District and Sessions Judge Chirag Bhanu Singh has granted anticipatory bail to Assistant Professor Ashok Kumar and two students in connection with the Dharamsala college student’s death, following allegations of ragging and sexual harassment. According to the status report submitted by Investigating Officer (DSP) Nisha Kumari, probe was conducted on the basis of attendance records of students, opinion of the Medical Board, the report of a committee constituted by the Directorate of Higher Education and the results of scientific tests, including layered voice analysis, polygraph examination and brain electrical oscillation signature (BEOS) profiling; besides forensic tests. The primary basis of the allegations was a video recorded by the victim during her treatment in October 2025 at a hospital in Pathankot, in which, she levelled allegations of ragging and sexual harassment. However, hospital treatment records and statements of staff indicated that she was undergoing psychiatric treatment at the time. In another video recorded in December 2025, she reportedly stated that the assistant professor was “good”
