Kangra District and Sessions Judge Chirag Bhanu Singh has granted anticipatory bail to Assistant Professor Ashok Kumar and two students in connection with the Dharamsala college student’s death, following allegations of ragging and sexual harassment.
According to the status report submitted by Investigating Officer (DSP) Nisha Kumari, probe was conducted on the basis of attendance records of students, opinion of the Medical Board, the report of a committee constituted by the Directorate of Higher Education and the results of scientific tests, including layered voice analysis, polygraph examination and brain electrical oscillation signature (BEOS) profiling; besides forensic tests.
The primary basis of the allegations was a video recorded by the victim during her treatment in October 2025 at a hospital in Pathankot, in which, she levelled allegations of ragging and sexual harassment. However, hospital treatment records and statements of staff indicated that she was undergoing psychiatric treatment at the time.
